A guard patrol system that shows missed rounds tonight, not tomorrow

Wilco is an NFC guard tour system. Guards tap checkpoint tags with an Android phone; every tap reaches the office as it happens, and every round is judged against its timetable — on time, late, early, out of order or missed.

A logbook is not proof

A signature in the guardhouse book says somebody wrote it — not that a guard stood at the fire exit at 3 a.m.

Found out the next morning

With paper, or a reader that is downloaded at the end of the shift, a missed round is discovered when nothing can be done about it.

Clients ask for evidence

Building owners want to see the patrols they pay for. A time, a checkpoint, a guard's name and a photograph answers that.

How the guard tour works

NFC tags are fixed at your checkpoints — gates, fire exits, car park levels, plant rooms. Routes and timetables are set in your browser. The guard signs on, sees the next checkpoint with a photograph of where it is, and taps.

  • Every tap appears on the live board as it arrives
  • A round nobody walked is recorded as missed, automatically
  • Works with no signal — taps are kept on the phone and sent later
  • Shared guardhouse phones: each guard signs on with a PIN; a guard's own phone starts as them
  • Each phone's battery and when it was last heard from, on the board

Questions

What is an NFC guard patrol system?

Small NFC tags are fixed at the places a guard must visit. The guard taps each one with an Android phone; the tap records where and when, and Wilco sends it to the office and checks it against the patrol timetable.

Do guards need mobile data?

Only to send. A whole round can be walked with no signal; the phone keeps every tap and sends them when it is back in range. The time recorded is the time of the tap.

Can guards use their own phones?

Yes — most Android phones with NFC work. A personal phone is set up for its owner and only shows that guard. De Tag can also supply a rugged Android handset.

How is a missed patrol detected?

Each route has a timetable. When a round's time has passed, Wilco judges it: on time, late, early, out of order or missed. A round nobody walked at all is still recorded as missed.

We already use De Tag Patrol Manager. Can we switch?

Yes. Wilco uses NFC tags, which a phone can read; Patrol Manager readers use a different kind of tag. We fit NFC tags beside your existing ones so both can run until you change over.

How is it priced?

Per phone, billed yearly, with every feature included. Ask us for a quote for your sites.
