How the licence works

Every Wilco licence renews on the same date each year, so one renewal covers all your phones. Join at any time: your first licence is priced by the month up to the next renewal date.

Adding phones during the year? They are priced for the months left, so everything renews together.

Hardware

  • Rugged Android handsets — optional, if you would rather not use your own phones
FAQ

Questions we are often asked

Which phones work with Wilco?

Android phones with NFC — most mid-range and rugged Android phones have it. We can also supply a rugged Android handset built for outdoor and night work. iPhones are not supported.

Do we need internet at the site?

The phones need mobile data to send, but not all the time. A whole round can be walked with no signal: the phone keeps every tap, answer and photo and sends them as soon as it is back in range. The office only needs a web browser.

Can staff use their own phones?

Yes. A personal phone is set up for its owner, shows only that person, and never carries the names of the rest of the team.

Can a tag be copied, or a tap faked?

Every tap is recorded with the tag’s identity, the phone it came from and the time — and only phones you have set up can send at all. A tag that is not on the round shows up as unknown in the reports. For paying sites we fit genuine NXP tags.

What happens if a phone is lost?

Cut it off from your browser in one click and it can no longer send anything. Set up the replacement with a one-time code — tags, rounds and history are untouched.

Can our client see the reports?

Today you download any report as a spreadsheet and send it. Client logins — a building owner seeing only their own buildings — are on the roadmap.

Where is our data kept, and who can see it?

Wilco runs in the cloud and is reached over a secure HTTPS connection. Each company’s records are kept completely separate from every other company’s. Ask us for the hosting details for your contract.

Can we use Wilco for more than patrols?

Yes. Wilco is built for any SOP that happens at a place: cleaning rounds, temperature logs, store audits and safety inspections. The on-screen words change to suit your trade.

We already use De Tag Patrol Manager. Can we keep our tags?

No — Patrol Manager readers use a different kind of RFID tag from the NFC tags a phone reads. We fit NFC tags beside your existing ones so you can change over at your own pace.

How long does it take to get started?

Once the tags are fixed, a site can be set up in an afternoon: tags, rounds, timetables, checks, people and phones are all entered in the browser. We help you with the first site.
